Toolbars

I wasn’t able to work on VisEmacs yesterday as I was called for Federal Juror Service. To my suprise, it was very different from state service. As a stand-by juror, I was on call for three weeks, and the trials last from several days to several weeks. I’m glad I wasn’t chosen to sit on a jury this time; it took me 2 hours just to get to the courthouse. I can’t imagine doing that for 6 weeks straight!

Luckily, today was a different story. One of the things that bothered me in VS 6.0 is that there was no way for an addin to create it’s own toolbar. Well, ok, it was possible, but the addin did not know the name of the toolbar, nor could it change the name, get a handle to it, et cetera. Today’s exciting development included the creation of a named toolbar, complete with buttons and icons. Spiffy!

    What's a Snow Flake?
    There are times when I want to make  a quick point without having to write an essay on the topic. Apparently there’s a whole meme of a blog within a blog, aka a sideblog or “asides”. I found a nice plugin that lets me do the same thing. I needed a name for this feature and since it’s just a little piece of Snowmoon Software, that “Snow Flake” would be a good name. Like it?
